Nick Recktenwald and His Vermont Ave Jazz Trio

Nick Recktenwald and his trio hail from the world renowned Indiana University Jacobs School of Music where they are currently students. Recktenwald made his Indy debut as a guest performer with Jeff Conrad’s Avenue Indy Jazz Quintet in February 2020. Subsequently he was in the band for a “Songs and Stories from the Great American Songbook” production at the District Theatre. Later in the summer of 2020, Recktenwald’s Vermont Ave Jazz band performed at the IndyFringe Outdoor Theatre and at a Lockerbie Square concert. Recktenwald is a classic “quadruple threat”…bandleader, trumpeter, vocalist, and arranger. For this Sunday Jazz Brunch, Nick and band will be playing their interpretations of the standards we all love, ranging from songbook tunes to jazz standards. Joining Nick will be bandmates Bruno Guittierrez, a graduate jazz bassist, and Charlie Harriman, a gifted arranger and guitarist. Come hear great songs, played well. Enjoy a wonderful brunch and friends new and old.
